Biosketch: Christopher Kullenberg

Christopher Kullenberg is a researcher in Theory of Science. He defended his dissertation "The Quantification of Society" in 2012. The dissertation concerns the statistical social sciences, their epistemic problems and their role in modern societies, and contains a case-study of the SOM-institute, a Gothenburg research center that has been very successful in providing large surveys.

Moreover, Kullenberg has a deep interest in the impact of new Internet technologies. He is the author of several articles, both inside and outside the academic field, concerning the possibilities and conflicts that arise when the Internet is used to make new political agendas and formations.

Currently, Kullenberg elaborates his research on the role of the Internet in situations such as the 'Arab spring', to understand its impact, how new technologies are learned and how knowledge is communicated between the users.

He is currently doing research on citizen science in the four-year project Taking Science to the Crowd. His main interests lie in understanding citizen science as an emerging form of research that expands both the methodological horizon of scientific inquiry as well as it enables new forms of participation and involvement outside the conventional institutional boundaries of academic work.
